Chron Disease

What it is

Chron disease is an inflammatory disease of the bowels. Apart from inflicting abdominal pain and its energy draining nature, Chron disease can lead to other life-threatening complications.

Chron disease is characterized by persistent diarrhea, intestinal bleeding and abdominal cramp. These invariable leads to weight loss and malnutrition.

Bowel obstruction, colon cancer, ulcerated GI tracts are other complications of Chron disease. The cause of this disease is not well understood but the immune system and the patient’s gene is implicated.

Self-diagnosing won’t yield the best result for Chron disease. Usually, the Doctor conducts a physical exam, run some labs on stool specimen and may further recommend endoscopy or colonoscopy.
